Do Everything In Love
Love has been a major theme for me this past month, whether it was loving people at school or learning about how to love people who don’t like your beliefs. As I am writing this, I am listening to “Reckless Love” by Cory Asbury. The song talks about how God’s love for us is selfless. No matter what we do God is still going to love us unconditionally.
Think about all the times we mess up. I am not trying to point fingers because I am just as guilty of failure as anyone. He loved us so much that “He sent His one and only Son to die for us” (John 3:16). We are so unworthy of that love, yet He gives it to us. The only thing we have to do is accept this free gift that He has given us. He chases after us because He wants to show His love for us.
Once we have accepted this love, He called us to love one another (John 15:12). I find myself more often than not trying to love others with my own ability or I simply try to make everything about me and not love them at all. I am reading a book called Wait and See by Wendy Pope that about how there are pauses in each season is God’s way of preparing us for what is next. I am one of the least patient people. I have caught myself wanting to run ahead and get to the end goal of serving Him overseas full time. But as I have been reading this book and learning to love, I’ve realized how important this time with Him has been.
